A consultation with a doctor will help you determine the risk and next steps associated with your medical condition and are covered by provincial health plans.
A procedure is the treatment that comes from that consultation and those are not always covered by provincial health plans, especially if they are nonthreatening.
For example, the doctor can see you to determine whether or not your skin tag or cyst are dangerous, and that will be covered by provincial health plans. But, if the doctor deems that skin tag or cyst as nonthreatening, provincial health plans will not cover the expenses related to their removal.
Your doctor will let you know when something is covered and when something is not.
